More mental health professionals and providers are responding to the needs of the transgender and gender expansive community, but it’s sometimes difficult to understand the needs of clients and how small details can be perceived as offensive and dismissive. This workshop will help these professionals create a safe space for transgender, non-binary, and non gender conforming. Participants will gain introductory language and knowledge they need to create a therapeutic alliance with their clients.
Attendees will have a better understanding of how to interact with gender variant individuals.
Attendees will leave the workshop introduced to the topic of gender and think critically about the ways gender functions in the therapeutic setting.
Attendees will learn how to provide a more inclusive gender variance within their organization/practice.
